About Us

Montgomery County Community College believes in thinking Big.

As an institution, the College prides itself on innovation. Founded in 1964, the College has grown with the community to meet the lifelong learning needs of Montgomery County. Known for its academic excellence and based on the successes of more than 30,000 alumni, the College is ranked first in the nation in its use of technology by the Center for Digital Education for 2008.

The College has two conveniently located campuses in Blue Bell and Pottstown, with additional learning centers in Willow Grove, Lansdale, Conshohocken, and Norristown, as well as an extensive array of e-Learning options. The College’s comprehensive curriculum includes 82 associate degree/certificate programs in 48 areas of study, including eight complete degrees offered entirely online, and specialized workforce development and continuing education programs.

Student success is the College’s primary goal. With a 16:1 student-faculty ratio, the College is committed to working closely with students to help them reach their educational goals. Students learn from award-winning faculty. In fact, the College’s faculty has been recognized as top in the nation three times in the past decade by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

The College provides students with a quality, relevant curriculum. Students who earn AA or AS degrees can expect seamless transfer to numerous public and private colleges and universities throughout the region. More than two thirds of the College’s career graduates are employed in their fields of study. In addition, graduates from the College’s health sciences programs consistently exceed the average national pass rate on their professional certifications—many with 100 percent of graduates passing on their first attempt.

Supporting the College’s mission to offer high quality, affordable, and accessible educational opportunities, the College is funded by the County, the State, and student tuition. Governed by a fifteen person Board of Trustees appointed by the Montgomery County Commissioners, the College is fully accredited by the Commission of Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.

The College is also one of 82 community colleges in the country participating in the Achieving the Dream initiative in support of student success and access, and in 2007 and 2008 was named to the national President’s Honor Roll for Community Service.

We invite you to think big with us by taking advantage of all the College has to offer—ranging from invigorating learning and professional development opportunities to extracurricular activities and impressive cultural programs.
